So for our dinner plans, we ate at La P'tite France( I kept a notebook that stated where we went to everyday coz I knew I would blog about it) :) La P'tite France was AMAZING. We were given a private room where we could eat and our own personal washroom. Every few minutes, waitresses came in and served us our food. There was ribs, pasta, pork, beef, patĂȘ, foie gras( don't know how to spell it so turned out like that) and pizza. Their pizza was massive, like 16 inches long. And so filling. The pizza was only the appetizer. The main course was ribs, pork, beef with patĂȘ at the side.
So the next day, we went to the Central Market....etc.......and took a tuk tuk to our dinner place( If you're wondering about lunch, my friends and I ate cup noodles for lunch throughout the entire Cambodia trip. You may think: Why eat Cambodian dinner and cup noodles lunch. My answer to that is: I love shopping, even if you do not have a shopping addiction, you will shop..........ALOT in Cambodia.)
Restaurant for the night....................
Drumrolls please.....................................................................................................................................
CHIANG MAI RIVERSIDE PHNOM PENH!
Applause................................................................................................................................................
Chiang Mai riverside is a Thai restaurant (what's a Thai restaurant doing in Cambodia?) dk
The green curry is especially nice, not too spicy, not too sweet, just nice :) I think that that was the nicest dish overall coz Thai food specializes in green curry so.. ya.
Then my friends and took a bus to Siem Reap. Guess how long the trip was.
8 HOURS LONG. (Actually, it's not much of a surprise).
4 HOURS PAST.
So the bus stopped at a restaurant called 'The Bayan Tree' <-- ???not so sure about it
My friends and I ate there and it was kinda pleasant, BUT, don't go there! Why?(read on to find out)
The nicest food was the ayam fish. Has a nice texture and the gravy had a curry taste so I was in love with it.
3 HOURS PAST.
We finally reached Siem Reap.
We weren't much hungry so we went to the silk factory in Siem Reap.
This is the part where I tell you why the food I ate at the Banyan Tree was not good.
We were given a tour around the silk factory and........ I suffered from food poisoning. So Do NOT try the ayam fish at the Banyan Tree.
My friends and I didn't much go to a good restaurant at Siem Reap. We went to a sorta coffee shop. It was under a gigantic tent. They served authentic Cambodian dishes like the ayam fish..... And they also served other things but my point today is the ayam fish. I once again tried the ayam fish and somehow, it tasted better the all the ayam fish I tried. It just had more F-L-A-V-O-U-R.
So the next day we had to go home(all sad :( faces) we boarded our plane and during that time, I analyzed the Cambodian trip and the results:
Best Restaurant goes to:
DRUMROLLS.................................................................................................................................
CHIANG MAI RIVERSIDE PHNOM PENH
Best Shopping Place:
DRUMROLLS.................................................................................................................................
THE CENTRAL MARKET
Best Hotel:
DRUMROLLS.................................................................................................................................
SILVER RIVER HOTEL PHNOM PENH
That concludes our Cambodia trip review. See ya next time.
Regards,
Juliet Rose
